1997 PLYMOUTH BREEZE JA MOTOR MOUNT
Como se llama ese buje o como lo busco para comprarlo?
Same problem I had, I drilled a bigger hole and added a bushing, also welded the slut edges on the shifter and grinded it straight lasted 4 year
14 mm short ratcheting wrench for those top bolts.
FORScan app is now available to help you diagnose issues like this on Fords, far better than what you had 6 years ago.
wondering about when you take the transfer case out and want to reseal the back of it as well ("extension housing" /rear to driveshaft) is there a gasket there ? looking at it under truck looks rubber ?
Honestly don't remember. Seems like there would have to be, but It was over 6 years ago!
@@cam32112 appreciate it, thanks and lata !!!
Great video, my 96 breeze 2.4 also shakes at idle while in drive. Not to violently but slightly annoying. I have not removed the whole motor mount but i did have to un bolt it to replace my engine oil pan gasket and it was not fun to do
Just wanted to thank you for making this
Your welcome! Thank you for watching.
Excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
Gorilla weld ugly but strong 💪 👏 😂
I am a expert welder , retired over 35 years , only time finger oil will mess with metal types is aluminum, but still its not a major problem, like you said by the time the heat gets to it most if it will be gone , but oil is used as a hardening technique , but yeah silver solder , bronze brazing rods , nickel rods , SS cast iron rods are just some of the things you can use to weld cast iron, theres a hundred different ways , but finger oil is not a problem only in aluminum welding and it would take a lot of finger oil then ....
Good job that’s a hard job to do
How bout some part numbers? Cant find the damn things anywhere for a 05 superduty
I got part numbers from O'really's then using that part number I found better non Chinese parts.
I have the same issue. I'm considering taking an angle grinder and cutting a groove down to the hole the pin goes through. welding the pin to the shifter shaft so you can just drop the shaft into the top end and the pin can just run down that slot I cut and into place with 0 play.
That may work fine. I no longer have this truck.
I know this video is super old, but thank you so a ton for this video. This truck had been kicking my ass for this very reason.
I leave it up because it gets so many views & for comments like this!
@@cam32112 we highly appreciate it. I have been a technician for over 15 years. All my skill is useless without information. Ford dealership, old wrecking yards and every facility I have went to know nothing about this transmission. No parts breakdown or anything. I refined my search to "t19 shifter" and boom I got this. Life saver. My customer almost had me scrap the truck
Question, how did it shift? Also , what oil do you run in the t5? Thinking about running the lucas 50wt transmission oil. (Sorry I know this is a old video)
Shifted much better with significantly less movement in all directions. I use Royal Purple Synchromax fluid. Thanks
nice job ! great technique for self taught , i dug up a cast iron (main) pipe that was oxy /ace brazed a steel nipple (service) that was installed in the 1930 the bead was perfect , that was 30 years ago still remember how great that was , thank you for sharing your knowledge
Would that also cause air to come out of the lines somehow in the fuel bowl
Not that I am aware of. Thanks
I have a 98 Plymouth Breeze 2.4 l 4-cyl. This is amazing I'm wondering if it's the exact same process for my 98. I'm pretty damn sure it's the motor mounts because my steering wheel violently vibrates and it's loud. I give it gas and it quiets down. I put it in drive and it's loud but when I put it in park and neutral it gets quiet.
1998 should be the same & you might want to check on the lower control arms as well. By this point in these cars lives all rubber is suspect!
@cam32112 that's what I was afraid of.. eeesshh
Man. This video is 10 years old. Thnx buddy for making it.
Good job, and good video. What a useful skill to have. Sometimes it’s not to save money, it’s because you simply can not get this part, and fixing it is the simplest solution. I watched this video because I am in this situation. I will learn this skill, and fix cast iron parts. Thank you for this.
You are most welcome. I learned from my father & grandfather to fix rather than throw away!
would’ve been cooler if you had a tinted lens for the camera so we could actually see what’s goin on. good job otherwise
pin with square end is a part for the same function from a NP435.
I recently broke my right front tie rod. Fixed that ABS light on. Figured it’s the right sensor. Now I just want the POS disconnected. It’s becoming a problem. Where is the freaking fuse ? I’m getting multiple locations.
I have one of these a 96 breeze only has 48 thousand miles everything original I’m replacing the motor mounts and just put some blue rims on mine
When I did mine I never had to undo my crossmember or anything. Luckily I have small enough hands and could reach it with a quarter inch ratchet and short socket. But I don’t have a car lift so it’s not the best angle lol
Just curious would a metal coat hanger work in a pinch
People use them for welding steel, mild steel, auto body. It works, but it's not the best, it's not welding rod! Welding rod contains things to help the weld action, deoxidizers, silicon... None of that has anything to do with brazing! So the short answer is "NO!".
Thanks for posting a how to video without the how to.
Nice job! Braising is very strong. Harley-Davidson frames use to be braised.
Great video. I was waiting on you to check the vacuum. You seem to have the skillset to also change the injection pump yourself. No doubt its one of the most expensive repairs on this car. Knew someone that replaced theirs 2x thru the dealership and continued to keep using biodiesel that I know was not as strained as much as it could have been. I've done mine once and replaced the gaskets of the injection pump two times. Your engine is very clean also, bravo. Much cleaner than mine.
Thanks Tom. I think the injection pump might be the weak link on those engines but when working they can get really good MPG!
Out of all the videos I've watched this one helped the most I'm subscribed to your channel names Joseph out of west tx
Please what kind of brazing rod on it thanks
Thank you! P.s. oil the press threads too! 💚.
Awesomely done great 📹 video!
Thanks Jason!
Thank you
I’m used to brazing stainless steel, copper and brass parts together but tend to run the braze rather than blob it on, is this how you have to braze cast iron or is this someone who’s more used to welding?
This is how I have done it for over 40 years with no problems or failures. I'm not sure what you are asking.
I think I was asking if this is the recognised way of brazing cast iron as I’m only used to brazing nonferrous metals which tend to need pre fluxing then running the brazing rod instead of the way you’re doing it, just curious that’s all.
@@marksellers2939 There are several ways to do this with good results. This is the one that has worked best for me. You can add enough brass so that it can be ground down & smoothed out. It takes more time & brass with no added benefits except cosmetic so I live with the blobs.
Thank you, this is the near exact one I'm looking for. Application will be on a 2003 Ford E-350 Super duty. This is basically the same frame as my Van, incredibly helpful video !!
Gasoline in California hasn't changed in many many years. What are you talking about?
Great diagnosis and how to fix it.
Great great great video!!! I found it looking for a solution to my problem, my fuel gage says 1/4 full and it really is empty. You mentioned it was the pick up screen. In my research, I assumed I would have to replace the entire fuel sensor, which i have found for over $500. Your video suggests I can just replace the pick up screen (under $20)....my life doesn't usually work like that, can that part be changed without changing the entire sensor?? I too have a 2002 X, 7.3L . Thanks
Hey cam32112. I have 1998 yz250 and I would love to resort it. I was wondering if you would like to restore it. I live in Monterey county. Let me know if you are interested..
Nice job!
Exagerado o pé
Will the t176 t`177 shifter fit in the t19 got a 85 f350 snapped shifter lever
I'm not sure. I would have to do some research on that. Google it?
Thanks for the help. In the months prior to watching your video, I have added about 5 quarts of transmission fluid due to the low level. Today I got about a quart out of the transfer case fill hole. Where are the other 4 quarts?
Any signs of leakage from trany or T-case?
@@cam32112 it’s wet around there but nothing dripping, not even new fluid. Guess I’ll change the seal. Thanks again!
@@ugabd57 Strange that the extra fluid did not come out of the T-case. When I took out the fill plug on mine about 2 quarts of ATF came shooting out which equaled the amount that my trans was down by. Regardless that seal needs to be replaced.
Thanks for the video, My ABS just light just started showing, solid light always on. Now I know where to start.
Excellent job, was that brass or bronze, and did you use a flux ?
Thanks. The white coating over the brass rod is the flux. You can buy it with or without flux but I like to have both together.
I've done a lot of brazing, it was a long time ago. I'm not sure I agree with your method. You seem to be using the brazing rod as welding stick. I'm my experience its more like silver soldering. Prefluxing surfaces is crucial. I wouldn't chamfer back the crack either. You want the bronze (not brass) to flow in, like soldering copper plumbing. The molten bronze flows where there is flux and where the metal is hot enough to keep it liquid.
Been doing it that way for over 40 years & no failures even on engine blocks. You are over thinking this whole process. Watch & learn!
It's brass. Never seen bronze used for brazing.
I agree with Simon, exactly my thoughts.
Great video, Great job and a big HI from Great Britain.....back in the Late 70s I got court by my boss brazing the same sort of thing when I was an engineering apprentice for my car....brings back good old memories😁
Thank you & a big HI from the States!
Where are you located? I have a metal shear in OC that’s cracked. I would like it braised by a pro..
South East Idaho not far from Yellowstone.
Good job, good thing using brazing instead of welding won't get cracking.
It's a solid alternative!
@@cam32112 lt is, l don't have acetylene l do my brazing using bits of fire bricks and a venturi Propane burner.
